Back in the Midwest!

Well i am in Charleston, Illinois right now visiting family for the holidays. It's kind of nice to get away from georgia for a while. It's not that i don't like Georgia, but i sometimes get confused about where my home is exactly (considering i have never lived somewhere longer than 2-3 years). At the same time, i wouldn't want it any other way. I've heard stories of some people who live in the same place, in the same house, in the same bedroom for their whole lives. I could never ever ever ever do that.

I want to travel the world. i know almost every student who's excited about "getting out on their own" says something along those lines, but most of the time they end up going to college with their friends from high school not too far from their parents house.
I keep promising myself i will never hold back from something because i am afraid or uncomfortable. It happens to too many people and they always regret not doing whatever it is they wanted to do.

I've started by signing up to go to Peru on a mission trip. And hopefully before too long i will be living in Sydney, Australia going to school at Hillsong college to be a worship leader/minister of some sort.

im excited to what God has in store for the rest of my life and i pray i will never hold back.

More harm than good?

I believe as Christians and a Church we are to carry out the great commission. But i think we have lost focus of reaching the lost and focused more on the Sunday morning church meeting and bringing people in the doors and in the pews.

Let's face it, the respect for the church has plummeted drastically, especially with the upcoming generations. And so why do we expect people to come to us when we won't go to them?

It just seems logical that Christians should not GO to church at all. If we are concentrated more on the service quality, the attendance, sunday school, or spending time with good people it defeats our purpose. Im not saying church is pointless because i have seen many good things happen in the church and i have seen many people become followers of Jesus because they decided to step in the doors of a church building one sunday. But, i think we miss out on SO MANY MORE opportunities to share the gospel just because we spend more time GOING to church than BEING the Church.

I wonder what Paul would say about the church today. Does it do more harm than good?

hello?

does the "youth" have a voice? Especially in the church.

it seems like i am "screaming" but nobody listens or wants to listen. Or maybe they aren't trying to ignore us, but do so unintentionally. They say we have an important role in the church, but what role is that?

Our society has zero or extremely low expectations for us (the youth).

anyways, here's a question. just a conversation starter...

" What is the youth's position in the church? "

i have some personal opinions on this question, so if you want to ask me...please do.

I know i am not a consistent blogger and i apologize.
Hopefully i can change that.

with much love,

Greetings to the Blogging World!!!

So my good friend marcus told me i should join the blogging world. And i thought about it, but the only people i know who blog are very intelligent. Therefore, i assume the only people who read blogs are also highly intelligent and do not have much time to waste reading blogs no one has ever heard of or one of a blogger that has literally no experience in the blogging world. But then i said " Oh Well" and decided to start one anyways.

i plan to sit down and write on this thing at least once a week. So if you want to stop by and read an even more "pathetic rambling" than my father's blog, you are more than welcome.
